YAMAGATA UNIVERSITY CAR CLUB DRIFT TRAINING MEET (PAGE 1)

last saturday i joined my housemate and some other yamadai jidoushabu(yamagata university car club) guys in a dorifto renshuukai(drift training meet).it was held at a parking lot somewhere in the northern part of niigata(a prefecture south of yamagata).we went there in a convoy of 6 cars, mazda mx5,daihatsu mira avanzatoR,mazda rx7 savanna(fc),nissan 180sx,honda civic eg6,and nissan silvia s14,and there was a nissan skyline r32 joining us in the middle of the training.

the whole thinggy started early in the morning, the plan was to be at the car club's clubhouse as early as 5:30 am.we were late 5 mins, and i thought everybody was already there as the japanese have a good reputation in time keeping, but i guess these guys prooves that the stereotype thinggy was wrong.there were only two guys there, getting ready with tires and other stuffs.while waiting for the others i took some pics of cars that were already there, unluckily those cars are not going for the training as their owners are busy with job interviews.

click for bigger picabout 6:30 we started on our 1 and a half hour trip.these guys really drives very fast, and talk about crazy driving, they even took over cars in front of them on both double line and in tunnels.to think of it,i remembered my japanese "sensei" back click for bigger picin malaysia said that, the japanese were rather shock with how malaysian drives.but i guess not to these guys.we reached there at about 8:30 after a short stop at a convenient store for breakfast.after a quick breafing from the president of the club, and tire changings, the training start.

MAZDA RX7 FC SAVANNA

the first car to start drifting, the owner is the president of the club.and as the president,he really does drift well.in fact he is the first person to ask me to join him in his car while he drifts.talk about one hell of an experience.i never drifted before, but the only thing i can say, sitting in there with him felt like a roller coaster ride, even worst!!(im bad with roller coaster),but its kinda fun.unluckily for him,his car broke down sometime in the afternoon,im not sure what, but some part of his car engine burned up.

NISSAN SILVIA S14

the best driver of the day uses this black car.his driving (to my eyes) are much similar to those drivers in the drift bible vids.but unluckily for him only 15 mins after he started driving, his tires began to worn out,in fact i can even see some thread of rubber coming out of the back tires.a good thing he brought another set of extra tires.

what is jidousha

jidousha means car or vehicle in japanese.it comes from the word "kuruma" that stands alone as one kanji(a type of japanese writing) which means car.when the kanji kuruma is combine with the kanji "ji" and "dou" it changes its sound to "sha"."ji" means automatically or self while "dou" means to move, this brings the whole word to be read out as self moving car.kinda weird for a transelation for a car,but it is understood by all who uses japanese langguage as car/vehicle.

this jidousha blog is created for the pleasure to those who loves cars, wheather they own one or not,as i,myslef am still struggling to buy my own :D.i created it as a twin blog of my own blog, http://kurekuresakti.blogdrive.com(please visit it by clicking the "kurekure inside " logo).i will try to update this blog from time to time, whenever i have the good stuff about cars.i hope u guys will enjoy this blog, and please give some comments and sign in the guess book.

thank you,
